The Party of '04 The 26th Annual Maritime Nets Party was held the last Sunday of June as always. A total of 31 people attended, which wasn't as giant a turnout as we expected; but everyone had a good time. There were some old friends and some new ones. To find out who was there, click here. Kermit, KB5HA, wasn't able to make it this year. He started it and, I believe, has been to every one of them. So, it wasn't as successful as it usually is. Hopefully, Kermit will be there next year and we'll do it all over again. Thanks to our ever-faithful photographer Jerry, KE6YY. The only problem is that nobody turned the camera on him or Ilah; so, we don't have pictures of them. They were there, though. Same as last year. Nobody wants to wait 100 years for the page to load. Therefore, I have just listed the names and you can click to see the picture. If it's blue, it's a picture. Watch for the black "and" in between. Some of them have separate pictures. If you want any of the pictures, just right-click on it, then click on "Save Picture As". Don't forget to pay attention to where it's going on your computer. To get back here, click your BACK button. Here we go! Art W5PHO flew all the way from Durango, CO to help run the show; and did a fine job. Thurman N6QX was there as one of the "old faithful". Fred KE6OA and Dotti made it. We weren't sure if they would. She is healing from broken bones. She looked good and is doing fine. She'll soon be out of that wheel chair and back in full swing. Jack VE3EED went hi-tech this year. He's got his computer all set to print name badges. Of course, it went kinda slow. He had to type with one hand as the red juice was in the other - as you can see. Oscar KE6EDC and Gayle K6GO were the first ones there. Pete KA6AXW was almost incognito with his cap and sunglasses. However, June was there with her bright smile. Ralph N6ADJ and Ama WB6ERQ came over the night before with their motorhome. They brought Linda with them again this year. Next thing we know, she'll be getting a boat - - or a ham license! Randy W6JRJ drove down from Pasadena the night before. Roy WP2F came in from Hemet. Does he look like a cruising sailor or what! Al WA6EFT and Bev also drove over from Hemet. Did they carpool? Hmmm. Steve N6AHN and Tommie KA6OAM brought the cardboard for the infamous sign. We went out to get a picture of it; but somebody had already removed it from the tree. Oh well. Check out that California, surfer-girl smile. Jack VE3EED was also caught smiling. Where's the red stuff? This is a rare photo!! John KO6QO and Cindy just got back from Wisconsin in time for the party. Red KD7BC is another "old faithful". He's been to just about every one of the annual parties. Rod W6MWB drove all the way over from Point Loma. Barbara N6MYT also drove from Point Loma and tells Thurman N6QX all about her trip. Steve AC6OB and Sheri drove down from Newport Beach. He is returning to his boat in San Francisco to get it ready for his cruise in the fall. Howard KG6MAK and Gini. Last, but certainly not least. Howard is a new ham and definitely the most polite of the bunch, especially when checking into a net. So, it is fitting that he be at the end. A fine ending indeed. Just in - hot off the press! Yes, Jerry KE6YY & Ilah WA6EDG were there. Rod took their picture. Thanks Rod.
